Cadmium yellow lemon is a vibrant and radiant color. With its slightly cool, luminous tone, it captures the essence of light. Its exceptional permanence makes it a durable choice for artists.

Originating in the early 19th century, cadmium pigment was discovered in 1817 by German chemist Friedrich Stromeyer. Its lemon shade, cooler and lighter than other cadmium yellows, quickly became prized for its unmatched opacity and intensity.

Combine cadmium lemon yellow with phthalo blue to create vibrant greens, perfect for spring foliage. Paired with ultramarine blue, it produces more muted, natural greens.
Mix it with cadmium red light or scarlet red to achieve bright oranges, or with Isaro pink for vivid coral hues.
Add a touch of burnt sienna to create subdued, warm yellows, ideal for landscapes.

This shade contains cadmium, but its use in watercolor is safe under normal conditions (do not ingest).
