Raw Sienna -Â An Authentic Color
Raw Sienna, which can fit perfectly into all your watercolor projects, is a cool brown tone with a slight greenish hue. It is derived from natural earth and is known for capturing the nuances of the earth once the watercolorist learns to master it. Particularly useful for landscape and portrait projects, it allows for soft shadowing.
Natural Earth Shadow pairs wonderfully with colors like Cobalt Blue or greens to achieve earthy, harmonious tones. It can also be mixed with yellows to create lighter hues or with reds for deep, nuanced shadows. With a relatively subtle pigment strength, it gently modifies the colors it is combined with.
Natural Earth Shadow is extremely stable and maintains its integrity over time.
Like ochres and burnt sienna, Natural Earth Shadow has a long history, with its popularity remaining unwavering even with the advent of synthetic iron oxides. Used since antiquity, it was highly valued by painters and has endured through the ages as a foundational color in many classical paintings.
When using it in a pan, be sure to rehydrate your color well before applying.

I really care about who my colors are for. If I do this job it is above all not to satisfy customers or gain market share but to satisfy artists. So I hope that they can be seduced by the power of the colors and their brightness.
