Indantrene blue
Indanthrene Blue - Intense Depth
PB60 - Transparent - Non-Granulating
This blue is perfect for artworks requiring dark and powerful tones, such as seascapes, stormy skies, or expressive portraits. It also excels in layering to create depth and subtle effects.
Indanthrene Blue is a deep color cherished for its dark hue, which balances between an intense blue with a hint of violet. This pigment is renowned for its exceptional permanence.
Indanthrene Blue originates from synthetic dyes developed in the early 20th century. Initially used in the textile industry due to its stability and resistance, it quickly became a favorite among painters for its ability to retain unaltered depth and richness of tone.
When paired with transparent yellows like Isaro Light Yellow or Chartreuse Yellow, it creates deep, natural greens, perfect for dense foliage or landscapes. Combined with Isaro Rose, it produces vibrant, deep purples. Mixed with Payne’s Grey, it enhances shadows and cool tones, making it ideal for nocturnal atmospheres or winter scenes.

I really care about who my colors are for. If I do this job it is above all not to satisfy customers or gain market share but to satisfy artists. So I hope that they can be seduced by the power of the colors and their brightness.
